Vision and Values

At Hamoaze House, people are at the heart of everything we do.

Our Vision

To create a calm, inclusive, and structured community where people affected by substance use and trauma can recover with dignity, purpose, and hope — supported by meaningful relationships, clear boundaries, and opportunities to grow.

We believe recovery isn’t about achieving perfection — it’s about building trust, reconnecting with yourself and others, and moving forward at your own pace.

Our Values

  • Everyone matters

We believe in the inherent worth of every individual. No one is written off. No one is expected to be perfect. Every person who comes to Hamoaze House is met with respect, belief, and the space to be seen and heard.

  • Trauma-Informed and Relational

We understand that trauma shapes how people experience the world. That’s why we create emotionally safe, predictable environments — with compassionate staff, regulated routines, and clear communication. Healing begins with feeling safe.

  • Community is the method

We operate as a therapeutic community, meaning recovery happens in relationship — not just through professionals, but among peers. People support one another, share responsibility, and help shape the space. From daily check-ins to shared activities, we believe in mutual care, shared voice, and belonging. Staff are part of the community too — not to impose, but to walk alongside

  • Structure with compassion

Our structured day programme provides routine, rhythm, and focus. We offer therapeutic groups, keyworking, and creative activities — all within a clear, safe framework. Boundaries are there to protect the calm, not to punish. Structure is how we offer stability, not control.

  • Co-produced and collaborative

Our service is built with – not for – the people who use it. We invite service users to contribute to everything from group content to governance, ensuring that what we offer remains relevant, respectful, and empowering.

  • Inclusive and neurodivergent-friendly

We embrace diversity in all forms. Our building, communication, and staff approach are adapted to support neurodivergent people and those with a range of access needs. We respect cultural, gender, and identity-based differences – and make space for every person to feel welcome.

  • Kindness without exception

Kindness is our baseline. Even when challenges arise, we meet people with honesty, care, and consistency. Respect is expected from everyone – staff, service users, and visitors alike.
