SleepSafe is our year-round emergency night shelter, hosted by Hamoaze House in partnership with BCHA and the Plymouth Alliance. It provides safe overnight accommodation for people facing rough sleeping, addiction, trauma, or acute personal crisis.
This is not a drop-in service. Access is by professional referral or assessment only.
SleepSafe is open every night of the year, from 10.00pm to 8:00am.

SleepSafe is designed for people who:
There is no requirement for abstinence, and support is always provided with compassion and dignity.
SleepSafe cannot be accessed directly by walking in. Guests must be Professionally referred by housing teams, emergency services, safeguarding professionals, or outreach workers and assessed by arrangement through BCHA
SleepSafe is short-term emergency accommodation. While staying with us, guests are offered basic support and signposting. They may choose to engage with other services—but there is no pressure or requirement to do so. Guests are supported into move-on accommodation.
Please note:
Access to Hamoaze House’s daytime programme is not automatic. SleepSafe guests are welcome to express interest, but participation in our structured services requires a separate assessment process.
SleepSafe operates under a formal Operational Management Plan agreed with Plymouth City Council and delivered jointly with BCHA. Our safeguards include:
